Graphic Story Telling

Posted on April 5th, 2020

So I just want to say that I was really impressed by your work for last week's assignment. You all did such a great job of creating personal tattoos. That result has inspired this project and I hope that you find it enjoyable.
For this week's assignment, you are going to tell a personal story using words and images. The style and method are up to you. You can draw, collage or use photographs. The story can be an old favorite tale or just a record of recent daily life. It could also be fiction if you like, but it needs to feature yourself as the main protagonist. It can be comic book style, or your own invention.

This is a blog that is about one person's early childhood. She tells many humorous stories that are illustrated by quirky, funny drawings. Read it to get an idea of visual storytelling. In each part of the story the images are just as important as the words.

For your story plan to use a minimum of three images and three descriptions to explain your story. More panels are acceptable if you wish. I am not going to assign thumbnail sketches this time.  Just turn in the final versions making them as cleaned up as you can. Color and ink are encouraged.

The finished panels (3 minimum) are worth 9 points. Timeliness is worth 1 pt. Due Friday April 10th by 3:00 PM.
